IThe Water Division of BBE provides consulting services to major international clients in the desalination, water supply, water treatment and sanitation sectors. The capability and experience of the Division extends across the full water cycle from water source development through to wastewater treatment and final disposal, including water management and treatment strategies and desalination.
Specific areas of expertise include:
• Desalination, including Reverse Osmosis and EDR;
• Water treatment, including clarification and disinfection, stabilization; and
• Wastewater treatment; treated effluent disposal and reuse.

The management of environmental and social issues is now a standard concern within any business or institution. The provision of environmental services is therefore an integral part of the design, engineering and other technical support services available from BBE.
We also consult in the areas of climate change, the growing demand for all natural resources, and the problems of water and waste water management. The ever-increasing growth of cities emphasizes the importance of urban management issues, including solid waste management (SWM), in which BBE has enviable research experience. Environmental Audits are required by Business and Industry as part of Due Diligence for the acquisition of major assets, followed by the establishment of a corporate Environmental Management System (EMS).
BBE is proud of the technical excellence of its work in the environmental and social sciences. This includes the conduct of baseline studies in the field as part of EIAs, and the subsequent monitoring of environmental and social parameters. We also advise organizations and industries on how to build environmental considerations into their planning, development and implementation. This ensures environmental mitigation and enhancement is included within any project, for the benefit of the environment, the community and the client.
