BBE team members have been the driving force, co-developers and managers of the mining industry's customised
software for the analysis of mine ventilation, contaminant tracking, refrigeration and cooling networks
(including VUMA-network, VUMA-chiller, VUMA-coolflow) with emphasis on full thermodynamic solutions.
VUMA-network (developed by BBE and CSIR) is used to determine air flow, pollutant and temperature distribution
throughout the ventilation circuit and cooling network, all displayed in 3-D full colour graphics. The VUMA
suite of software is continually being upgraded and expanded. The latest addition to the suite [VUMA-live]
will interface with on-line monitoring of underground conditions, with the potential of controlling the
distribution of ventilation and cooling 'on demand'.
